Here are some tips for a successful interview:

·Show off your vocabulary - especially technical terms in your field


· Use long, complex sentences whenever possible.

· Provide specific names of people in your field that you have worked with,
been judged by, have seen you perform and you see as a role model.

· When discussing why you should be chosen, be positive about your attributes.

List your strengths - I write good poetry, I make decisions well, I can
design projects and carry them out without much help, I plan to use my
area in the future to ________, etc.

· If your have not decided exactly what your career will be, select three
possibilities and EXPLAIN how your GHP experience in your area could help
you in these careers.


MORE TIPS!
Make sure:
· you have listed all of the criteria other than those met at school such
as science proposals, monologues, portfolios, musical pieces, dances, etc.
· whatever you have to present at the county interview is clean, neatly
displayed, complete and appropriate.
· shoes are clean, hair is combed and gum is removed before you arrive.

· you have done your homework - your area teachers
will be giving you ideas and suggestions to help you be
well prepared. If you are advised to do some reading or practicing,
please make sure that you do lots of it!
